Bharat Jodo Yatra, an initiative by the Congress party was finally concluded in Srinagar on Sunday, January 29, 2023.
Congress general secretary and Rahul Gandhi's sister, Priyanka Gandhi accompanied him at the flag hoisting event at the conclusion of the Yatra.
Prominent party leaders have been invited to the closing ceremony of the Yatra which is supposed to be held in the Congress head quarters in Srinagar today. A rally will also be organized there after in Sher- e-Kashmir stadium.
Rahul Gandhi started his journey on foot on September 7, 2023 from Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu. In his journey, he was accompanied by several Congress workers. The Yatra encompassed a total of 12 states and 2 UTs, covering a distance of 4,080 KM. He addressed various gatherings throughout his journey and expressed his gratitude to people who became a part of this initiative.
He, while in a press conference said, “The aim of the yatra was to unite India, it was against the hate and violence being spread across the country. We have had a tremendous response. In fact, no one expected to get such a love-filled response.”
Recently, the Yatra had been suspended because of the death of Santokh Singh, a renowned Congress MP from Jalandhar.
