Ambedkar Student Association Protest for Phd Admissions
Ambedkar Student Association's demonstration outside the Vice-Chancellor's office entered its third day today. The Association reiterates its demand for a revised notification regarding category-wise seat allocation for PhD admissions for the academic session 2023-2024 at PU.
Gautam Bhouriya, President of the Ambedkar Student Association, asserted that despite ongoing protests since July 13 and the administration's acknowledgement on July 24, no revised notification has been issued.
Bhouriya warns that unless the administration releases the revised notification and extends the application deadline, the association will continue its sit-in protest.
Yesterday, the University Business School (UBS) released a category-wise seat distribution having SCs(4), STs(2), OBC(1), PWD(1). But, it was addressing only UBS Department students.
However, the Association's demand remains comprehensive - for the revised notification to cover all departments and extend the application deadline until August 30. Bhouriya also warned of escalating the matter to the National Commission for Scheduled Castes if the administration fails to act.
