Heavy rain and counseling doesn't go hand in hand due to which students have cited safe travel as a cause of worry.
Continuous rainfall saga has left students confused as many applicants from Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh are supposed to attend offline counseling for departments like UIHTM and affiliated colleges.
Many applicants are from Himachal Pradesh and the transportation network is severely disrupted which has led applicants to panic.
HPSU and NSUI had raised their voices to postpone the counseling. In conversation with Dr. Jaswinder Sharma of UIHTM stated that he would take charge from tomorrow but the concerns at hand required immediate attention. HPSU further emphasized that they are eagerly waiting for notification release and if this demand is left unsatisfied they would resort to continuous protest. They have continuous contact with DSW and Register.
Similarly, Sagar Bawa and Amrit Pal Toor also submitted a memorandum to the DUI regarding the same stating that counseling should be postponed till further orders as the situation is getting worse.
Earlier, the date for applying for PG courses was extended by the Vice Chancellor due to heavy rainfall for the past few days in various regions and extended the last date of filling of Online Admission Form.
In a recent set of updates, all candidates who were to appear for exams, counseling, sports trials, etc on July 10 and July 11 have been postponed owing to excessive rainfall, all such exams, counseling, sports trials will now be held on later dates.
