Political Motives Suspected in the delay of Panjab University's Senate elections.

Panjab University, Chandigarh might not have a full Senate after October 31 because of delayed elections. Some senators as per social media think that there are political reasons behind the delay of the elections.

They believe that the central government and university leaders want to affiliate Haryana colleges with Panjab University.This could reduce Punjab's influence. Moreover they claim that the BJP government wants to replace the elected Senate with a governing body to push this plan.

However, Haryana leaders support affiliating colleges from Panchkula, Kalka, and Ambala with Panjab University, but Punjab’s Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is strongly against it.
