On Republic day in sector 42, Chandigarh, slogans advocating for "Khalistan" and "Sikh For Justice" were found written in blue ink on the board of the Beant Singh Memorial. Additionally, a rally was held on the border of Chandigarh and Mohali, calling for the release of Sikh prisoners, including terrorist Jagtar Singh who was convicted for the murder of former Chief Minister Beant Singh.
These actions have raised questions about the security measures in place and the effectiveness of the Chandigarh police in preventing such incidents.
The slogans and rally run counter to the spirit of Republic Day, which celebrates the unity and integrity of India.
The police are taking strict action and are investigating the matter to find out the mischief makers. It is important that those who seek to incite violence and sow division are held accountable for their actions.
