Students of the Hindustan Students Association clashed outside DAV College in Chandigarh.

Hundreds of students raised objections about the newly appointed Joint Secretary, claiming that he was admitted illicitly ahead of the student union elections. The police also arrived on the scene to control the situation.

Pratham was admitted on August 26 to contest the elections, even though the college's admission deadline had already passed. He was intentionally admitted by the college administration. He scored 57%, whereas students with higher percentages were denied admission.

Pratham was the joint candidate of the SOI and ABVP parties. The issue of his false admission came to light after his victory in the elections. He may be expelled from the post of Joint Secretary if any unlawful activities in his admission process are discovered.
