Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, also termed as 'National Unity Day' is celebrated every year on October 31 in the memory of our legend Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel - the Iron Man of India. To pay tribute to his courageous acts, 'Statue of Unity'- the world's tallest statue with a height of 182m, was constructed in Gujarat. Rashtriya Ekta Diwas embarked a historic day in India, as it aims to reaffirm the solidarity among the people of India.
Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was born in 1875. He was a well-known Indian politician. Sardar Patel was the first Deputy Prime Minister of India under Jawaharlal Nehru's term. He is popularly known as a founding father of the Republic of India, because he played a significant role in integrating the 500 independent provinces into a unified India after the Partition.
Rashtriya Ekta Diwas or National Unity Day was introduced in India in 2014 by the Government of India, to remind every Indian about the unity of our country and also to signify “Ekta mein hi shakti hai”.
