So, each event of their life is a memory to cherish.The nation today celebrates the 49th birth anniversary of the Kargil war hero, our very own Param Vir Chakra awardee - Captain Vikram Batra.
Vikram Batra was an Indian Army Officer who attained martyrdom while fighting Pakistani infiltrants in the Kargil war on 7th July 1999. He was known not just for his courage, valour and bravery but also for his lively spirit and jolly nature. His slogan 'ye dil maange more' still instils many young army recruits with high 'Josh' and dedication.
An alumnus of Panjab University, Vikram was born on 9th September 1974, in Palampur of Himachal Pradesh.This epitome of courage for the Indian youth was also known as Shershah. A movie by the same name, celebrating his life and times, had hit the silver screen just a while back.
