A 3 Day Workshop starting today and focusing on awareness of mental health was held at the University Institute of Legal Studies, PU. This event was mainly for the first year students.
The workshop focuses on the discussion on Mental Health and the stigma related to it. Various common and complex mental health disorders were also talked about. Also, the students were made aware about the Rights of person with Disability Act, 2016 and Mental Health Care Act, 2018.
Noted speakers from Pushpanjali Trust, Mr. Gurpreet Singh, Psychiatric Social Worker and Anoop Inder Kaur, Clinical Psychologist were present at the event. The event was held with the support of the Director, Prof. Rajinder Kaur and the Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Raj Kumar of the department. Prof. (Dr.) Rajinder Kaur and Mr. Gurjinder are the teacher coordinators and Vaishnavi Gaur, Sachin and Sanmeet Kaur are the Student Convenors for the workshop.
Students found the workshop informative and helpful. Soon, a counsellor will also be appointed for the help of students and the staff members.
