A 32 year old woman, was allegedly consuming alcohol in Dukniwaran Sahib Gurdwara complex in Patiala, near the sarovar and was reportedly shot multiple times by a visitor.
Authorities reported the victim, Parminder Kaur resident of Urban Estate Phase-I was noticed consuming alcohol and was supposed to be taken to the Manager's Office but was shot dead using a 32-bore licensed revolver by a passerby in a fit of anger. Kaur was taken to the hospital but declared dead by the doctor upon arrival.
The accused has been identified as Nirmaljit Singh and has been identified as a property dealer and has no criminal background, the cops reported.
According to Patiala Senior Superintendent of Police, Varun Sharma, the incident took place on Sunday evening and a man injured was rushed to the hospital and reported to be in a stable condition.
