Today Punjab Chief Minister passed official orders and announces the closure of Zira Liquor Factory in Ferozepur. There were multiple protests of farm unions from past few months demanding the same because it was allegedly causing serious damages to underground water, air and environment because of ethanol plant in the factory .
CM Bhagwant Mann mentioned that the decision is taken after a due consideration of people's interest and by consulting various experts for the well being of state's environment, air and water . Therefore , no one will be allowed to deteriorate it's quality and no lineancy will be shown in such cases of violation of rules related to pollution , mining or transport and in the future even if anyone tries to spoil the environment, they will not be spared.
