Breaking: Russia to Goa Azur Air flight diverted to Uzbekistan following a bomb threat, 2nd threat in 2 weeks .
According to police, in the early hours of Saturday, January 21, 2023, a chartered flight, an Azur Air plane traveling from the Russian Capital, Moscow to Goa with around 240 passengers on board was diverted to Uzbekistan due to a bomb threat.
According to a senior police official, the plane was scheduled to land at the Dabolim Airport in South Goa at 4.15 am.
It was yet to enter Indian airspace when the threat was sent via email to Goa Airport (Dabolim) Director. Authorities were worried about the safety of the crew and passengers on board, so it was quickly decided to reroute the plane to Uzbekistan.
This is the second time in recent weeks that a jet headed toward Goa has received such a threat that too of the same airline. Nearly two weeks had passed since a Moscow to Goa flight had to make an emergency landing in Gujarat's Jamnagar airport due to a bomb threat.
