Broken Infrastructure becomes a major issue of concern at Panjab University
In spite of development in multi-faceted fields, Panjab University lacks improvement in furniture. Undoubtedly, PU, Chandigarh is touching the heights of success in almost every sphere but the condition of infrastructure still lacks behind as a major loophole. Unkept and broken furniture was found in some of the rooms of the department. Around seven to eight chairs were found in an open room on the third floor of the PU-ISSER building. A number of broken computers and smashed chairs were also spotted in the other room.
Although some claim it to be to be copy, the security of such is still a concern as despite inventory , routine audits and checkups are missing.
An anonymous source claimed that keeping such furniture unkept and in open condition might cause a risky situation in future and may harm the integrity and heritage of the Panjab University. The absence of auditing frequently is the cause behind such conditions of infrastructure. Lack in awareness-cum-security also gives an open invitation to the thefts.
PU Pulse urges the concerned officials to do the needful in order to avoid any consequences.
