Social Media attraction is very common among youth these days. Similarly, a 20 year old student Hitesh from Chandigarh University got trapped by a girl named Rakhi on Instagram. She chatted with him for some days and asked him to meet outside VR Punjab Mall and then she convinced him to go out at her place for a party. In the car, two other persons who belong to Rakhi's gang put the chilli powder in the eyes of Hitesh and gave him an injection to make him unconscious. They kidnapped him in a flat in Ranjit Nagar in Kharar. Kidnappers know that his father is an SDO in Ludhiana, So, they demanded 50 Lakhs from the family and to make them confused they asked them to deliver the money in Haridwar.
Kidnappers use 6 sim cards to misguide the police department. But after the successful investigation, Mohali Police arrested all the three members of the gang along with several drugs and weapons. One of the arrested Ajay Kadian's father is a chemist in Sonipat so he was well versed with the working of the injection. Third arrested was identified as Ajay from Sirsa.
Police has took all of them on remand and presented them in a Mohali court today. They are also investigating the criminal background of the arrested.PU Pulse urges the youth to be aware of such Social Media scams.
