In an Official Statement, Chandigarh University, yesterday, clarified that no incident of the sort as alleged by the students' has occurred. No Student has committed suicide and no Student is in a critical condition. As per the Police and the CU Administration, the girl had made her own video and sent it to her boyfriend.
An FIR under Section 354C, IPC (Voyeurism) and IT Act has been registered against the girl. The girl (student of Chandigarh University) and 2 boys from Shimla have been arrested. Their mobile phones have been taken into custody and sent to the forensic team.
Following the Protests, Punjab Police has constituted a 3 member women Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by senior IPS officer, Gurpreet Deo to investigate the students' allegations. Meanwhile, Bhagwant Mann has ordered a high level probe into the matter.
The University administration has suspended the girls' hostel warden for her alleged misbehavior with students. Furthermore, the University has been shut for students till Saturday
