Delhi witnesses another horrific incident that leaves women's safety with a huge question mark
In a shocking incident that took place in Delhi, a woman was dragged by a drunk man who was driving his car. This woman is none other than the Delhi Commission for Women Chairperson, Swati Maliwal.
As reported by the Delhi Police, Swati Maliwal, along with her team, was outside AIIMS and was inspecting the locality in terms of women's safety.
To her horror, she was eve teased by a 47 year old man who was heavily drunk and offered her to sit in his car. DCW chairperson responded with reprimanding the man and held him. To this, the man responded by pulling up his car window while Swati Maliwal's hand was still stuck in it. He drove off and dragged her for about 10 to 15 meters. An FIR has since been registered.
Safety of women in India is a huge question in lieu to horrendous incidents like this. A similar incident took place a few weeks back in Sultanpuri, Delhi which resulted in the death of the 20 year old victim.
Swati Maliwal took to Twitter and said that if the chairperson of DCW isn't safe then who is?
