On 12th Nov, Himachal Pradesh witnessed the state elections with 412 candidates that contested the elections and were voted for from around 68 constituencies. The voting was scheduled from 8 am on till 5 in the evening.
7884 polling stations were set up for around 56 lakh eligible voters out of which the turnout was 65.92%. The highest turn out was from Lahul Spiti. The Election Commission had its highest voting booth at Tashigang, Kaza in Lahul Spiti at a height of 15,256 feet for 52 voters out of which 51 voted (98%)
Voters reached in huge numbers by the evening. Senior citizens including a 105 old woman also reached to vote. The government had continuously urged voters to use their precious votes and also encouraged people for record breaking participation.
All the votes will be counted and the results will be declared on 8th December'22.
