Today Girls from Girls Hostel 2 (GH2) at Panjab University gathered near the Dean of Student Welfare (DSW) office to discuss a pressing issue concerning a staff member's behavior. The residents of GH2, Laxmi Bai Hall, PU, felt compelled to take action to address the ongoing problems associated with Ms. Satwanti Rana, an employee within their hostel.
In a letter addressed to the authorities, the residents outlined their concerns regarding Ms. Satwanti Rana's conduct. Despite two previous warnings from the university, her behavior had not improved, and the residents had had enough.
The issues raised by the residents encompassed a range of troubling behaviors, including harassment and disrespect toward the girls, consistently cold and rude demeanor, inappropriate and personal comments, as well as unnecessary conflicts with visitors.
Guests and family members visiting the residents also faced an unwelcoming environment. This situation had cast a negative shadow over the hostel. Girls also claimed that they complaint to warden a number of times but still no action has been taken. So around 100 of girls gathered near Dsw Office today.
In response to these concerns, DSW issued an order for an immediate meeting in presence of Assistant Warden, Warden of Gh-2 and Gh-10, PUCSC president Jatinder with 2-3 residents of hostel.
