Today proved to be a big day for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) as it won the civic polls in Delhi with a majority defeating its opponent, BJP.
AAP dethroned the last polls winner, BJP breaking its control over the MCD. It also turned around the 15-year rule of the Bhartiya Janta Party over the civic polls.
The party crossed the halfway mark of 126 seats and won 132 seats thus winning the elections. BJP on the other hand won only 104 seats trailing far behind AAP.
The head office of AAP witnessed huge celebrations after the election results were announced. Arvind Kejriwal, the President of the party congratulated the party workers and thanked the people of Delhi for their votes and 'bringing the change'.
