Haryana will have a separate Vidhan Sahba in Chandigarh, UT exchanged land, Punjab opposed

Chandigarh to allot 10 acres to Haryana for Vidhan Sabha.

Chandigarh is going to provide a separate seat for Haryana Vidhan sabha after the legal proceedings, 10 acres of land will be given near Kalagram for making Haryana Vidhansabha. In return, the Haryana government will give 12 acres of land adjacent to the IT park to Chandigarh.

However Punjab is opposing this decision by Chandigarh. When the Home Minister, Amit Shah had announced to give land, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann strongly opposed it. Apart from this, opposition leaders also expressed their opposition to this decision of the Center. Recently, Punjab's Congress leader, Sukhpal Khaira, had also expressed his opposition to this decision of Chandigarh.

DC Vinay Pratap of Chandigarh stated that numerous conversations regarding this issue have taken place with representatives of the Haryana government. The document exchange, which took two weeks to complete, is all that is left to accomplish now.
