In what seems to be a breaking update, a serious contestant issue was resolved by Uttarakhand high court where students are provided an age relaxation of upto 2 yrs for fighting student elections.
BFF Current advancement came as a result of careful consideration by the administration, acknowledging the fact that amid COVID-19 many students were stripped off of the opportunity to have a chance of contesting the elections.
A petition was filed by Ankit Bisht of DAV college Dehradun to get an age extension, who was refrained from participating in student uniom elections due to being overage, losing his years to COVID-19.
HC realised the situation to be going against the basic rights of the individual, leading to Justice Sanjay Kumar Mishra directing all degree colleges to implement the 2 year age relaxation at the earliest.
It may seems that many students are demanding age relaxation in PU itself too. Should age relaxation given to students or not? Let us know your opinion in comment box
