Karnataka to withhold New Year's Celebration post 1 am, masks also made compulsory at public places

On Monday 26th December 2023, Karnataka's Health minister made an announcement addressing the new year celebration and issued various guidelines to control the spread of COVID-19 infection.

The minister announced that the new year celebration will be prohibited post 1 am on 1st January 2023. Along with that, he specifically asked citizens to not exceed the prescribed capacity of people in all the celebratory venues. There must be a thorough check of masks and temperature before the entry in these venues.

The Government urged elderly people (above the age of 60), co-morbidities and pregnant women to avoid such gatherings. People are requested to follow regulations amid the rise in COVID-19 cases.
