After so much chaos, Punjab and Haryana high court has finally ordered the Chandigarh administration to hold the elections for Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Senior Deputy Mayor on January 30th at 10 am.
After a period of blame-game between the Congress-AAP alliance and BJP after the postponement of the Mayor elections scheduled to be conducted on 18th January, the period of tension unfolded after the elections which were supposed to be conducted on the 18th got delayed without any new date at the end moment due to the unavailability of the electoral officer, which was alleged as a political game by the BJP by the Cong-AAP alliance.
Earlier, the High court had asked to give the administration any date before February 6 for the conduct of elections. Today was the final day given by the high court to lock a new date, and finally putting an end to all the drama, the new date for the elections was locked on 30th January.
