
A passenger Aircraft crashed in Nepal on the runway at Pokhara International Airport today. The plane consisted of 72 passengers that included 68 traveling passengers and 4 crew members.
Reportedly, at least 40 people died in the crash whereas 16 dead bodies have been recovered from the wreckage till now. The on-board passengers included 53 Nepali, 5 Indian, 4 Russian, 1 Irish, 2 Koreans, 1 Argentinian, and a French national.
The reports suggest that the plane crashed around 20-minutes after take off and was close to landing at the Pokhara airport. The rescue operation is underway. The Nepal’s aviation authority official said that it was the worst crash in the small Himalayan country in nearly five years.
