No end to unrest in Nuh, permission denied for Braj Mandal Yatra

Nuh has been witnessing clashes between communal groups since 31st July and the matter has been escalating to new heights because of the Braj Mandal Yatra.

The anticipation of the Braj Mandal Yatra in Nuh has brought to light a series of complex issues involving religious sentiment, security concerns, and political dynamics.

The clash between the Haryana Chief Minister's stance on denying permission for the yatra and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad's counterattack underscores the challenge of maintaining law and order while respecting religious rights.

To address the impending situation, CM Manohar Lal Khattar held a crucial meeting with the Director General of Police (DGP) Shatrujit Kapoor and the Chief of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) ADGP Alok Mittal. The discussions revolved around the current situation in Nuh and intelligence inputs regarding the possible yatra. The aftermath of the previous violence highlighted issues of coordination between the police and CID, prompting an investigation ordered by the Home Minister Anil Vij.

Amid these developments, security measures were heightened. Section 144 was imposed, schools and colleges were closed, and internet services were suspended until August 28. The deployment of 57 Special Duty Magistrates, sealing of district boundaries, and additional personnel from the Rapid Action Force (RAF) and paramilitary forces were implemented to maintain order. The police conducted encounters with individuals linked to the previous violence, reflecting the seriousness of the situation.

The forthcoming Braj Mandal Yatra in Nuh showcaswes the delicate balance between religious freedom, security concerns, and governance. The clash between the government's stance and religious sentiment, coupled with the recent history of violence, paints a challenging landscape for authorities.
