Food delivery companies made Diwali on New year, Over 5 lakh orders were delivered by Swiggy and Zomato on New Year's Eve
On 31st December 2022, Zomato and Swiggy broke all records of maximum number of orders and maximum number of deliveries especially for biryani.
As per CEO of Zomato, Deepender Goyal on 31th December 2022, 16514 orders for biryani were received which had weight approximately equal to 15 tonnes. Also an approximation 2 million orders were delieved in total, which means they recieved 186 orders ever minute
Talking about Swiggy, CEO Mr. Sriharsha Majethi shared that it delivered around 3.5 lakh orders for biryani and 2.5 orders for pizza and an approximation of 137 orders were received every minute.
Similarly, Domino's delivered 61,267 pizzas on the new year eve.
However due to such a huge amount of orders, the delivery persons faced big challenges too as they were seen rushing badly to deliver the food on time. On side celebrations were on, and on other side they were trying their best to deliver it on time. Big kudos to such hard working people.
