PU's long ongoing political scenario that once highlighted ideologies and sturdy principles, now has become a chaotic display of opportunism. The recent years have witnessed a trend of leaders hopping from one party to another.
Now it seems, it's all about grabbing opportunities, irrespective of any party's vision or values. Not only this, it's highly observed recently that new leaders are welcomed grandly to a new party. But if the same party's leaders shift their support to another, they claim to have had no connection with them in the past as well. This leaves the concept of unity and a firm stand behind.
A recent example of this trend was the formation of the USO party led by Arsh Kamboj, formerly a member of CYSS. Instead of accepting a straightforward departure the party chose blatant lies. CYSS claimed no connection to the members of the newly formed party. However, screenshots of Kamboj with CYSS stickers, alongside evidence of his past association with the party rendered these claims useless.
On the other hand when there was inclusion of Mankirat Maan, a senior leader from SOI and various other leaders from different parties into CYSS, a press release was done making a huge deal out of it.
A lot of such scenarios have been witnessed recently. These incidents make one wonder if the credibility of Student Parties has vanished.
Between all of this, the true victims of this political circus are the students who put their faith in these parties.
