Petroleum and oil marketing companies have announced a significant reduction in the prices of commercial LPG cylinders by Rs 171.50, effective immediately. As per sources, the latest retail price of a 19 kg LPG cylinder in Delhi will now be Rs 1,856.50.
It is worth noting that this is the second time in a row that the prices of commercial LPG cylinders have been reduced. In the previous month, the prices were slashed by Rs 91.50 per unit and were being sold at Rs 2,028 per unit.
The hike in prices of commercial LPG cylinders was witnessed on March 1 of this year, wherein the prices were raised by Rs 350.50 per unit. Domestic LPG cylinders, on the other hand, saw an increase of Rs 50 per unit.
It is interesting to observe that the prices of commercial cylinders were last reduced on September 1 of the previous year, where the reduction was Rs 91.50.
Moreover, in August of 2022, the prices of commercial LPG cylinders saw a reduction of Rs 36. Prior to that, on July 6, the rates for the 19-kilogram commercial cylinder were cut by Rs 8.5 per unit.
In summary, the current reduction in prices is expected to provide some relief to the businesses in these challenging times, where many are struggling to stay afloat.
