Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s mother, Heeraben Modi,passed away early on Friday in Gandhinagar.

After paying his respects at her Raysan home, PM Modi brought her mortal remains to the cremation for the funeral rites.

According to the hospital, Heeraben Modi, 100, passed away this morning at the UN Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Center in Ahmedabad about 3:30 am. After her condition deteriorated, she was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday.

Following this unfortunate incident,PM's hometown Vadnagar observes a bandh today. Family urges everybody to continue with their work as it will be a befitting tribute. CM Bhupendra Patel remained with PM Narendra Modi during last rites. Former CMs Vijay Rupani and Shankersinh Vaghela were also present.Leaders from all arenas pay condolences on her demise.
