Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi addressed a rally today at Ramleela Ground in Sector-27, Chandigarh, in support of I.N.D.I.A alliance Lok Sabha candidate from Chandigarh Manish Tewari.
In her speech, Priyanka Gandhi highlighted that the vision for Chandigarh was conceived by Pandit Nehru, who brought in architects from France to build the city. She criticized the Modi government, stating that no development has been carried out in Chandigarh over the past 10 years.
She further attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi by recalling his previous election promises. She mentioned that Modi's first election campaign was based on the promise of giving ₹15 lakh to every citizen, the second on the narrative of service, and now in the third election, he is resorting to Hindu-Muslim politics.
Addressing the issue of women empowerment, Priyanka Gandhi accused Modi of failing to deliver on his promises. She pointed out that while Modi once talked about empowering women, now he talks about "mangalsutras" for electoral gains. She stated that no force can take away a woman's mangalsutra and criticized Modi for misleading the public with irrelevant issues. She also mentioned a misleading claim that Congress would take away one of your buffaloes to give it to a Muslim if you own two.
Priyanka Gandhi appealed to the public to support Manish Tewari, emphasizing the need for change to address Chandigarh's development and resolve its issues.
