Prof. Renu Vig appointed as Vice-chancellor of Panjab University, making her the first Female VC in the university's 141 year history
Today, Vice President, Shri Jagdeep Dhankar, who is also the chancellor of the university, appointed Prof. Renu Cheema Vig as the Vice Chancellor of Panjab University for a term of three years.
After the resignation of former VC, Prof Raj Kumar, Prof Renu Vig was given control of the VC office for a temporary period. She was presently working as the Dean of University Instruction(DUI).
Consequently, the Hon'ble Vice President constituted a three member Search-cum-selection committee on March 21 for recommending names for the post of Vice Chancellor, Panjab University. Prof. Renu Vig's appointment follows from the committee's report.
