PU Files Plea for Injunction for Dharna Point in Court Against all the Unions Amid NAAC Visit

PU reached court against all the students, workers and teachers union in court, filed plea to stop protests in front of VC office.

As the NAAC visit is just around the corner and pu doing everything to get a good grade this time. For the same, Panjab University filed a case in District court in which they demanded that to stop the protest by all the unions of Panjab University near Vice Chancellor office.

In the plea filed, Panjab University mentioned all the unions including NSUI, ABVP, PUSU, SFS ,SOPU, HIMSU, HPSU, AISA, PSU while also mentioning some teachers and workers union like PUSA, PULTA, PUFWU, PUSTA in total 30 unions.

The case was filed on July 28 and after getting a hearing on July 29 and July 31, the court now scheduled the next hearing on August 9. The court has issued the notice to all these unions.

After getting the notice, all the unions strongly condemned this by stating that this is the death of democracy and basic rights. NSUI state President Sachin Galav stated that this is the first time in history that PU has reached the court against the unions to stop the protests. PUSA President Honey Thakur stated that they didn't protest for any illegal demand. If administration earlier met with their demands they don't need to do any protest.

It may seem that Panjab University didn't want to take any wrong step amid NAAC visit on 2-4 August. To make the environment protest free pu had taken this step. Earlier, the University tried to demolish the protest site and issued a notice to do protest on the marked Dharna point near the dispensary.
