PU inaugurated "Selfie Point", SFS and some faculty termed it as "Elante culture"

Selfie Point at the Student Centre; Some faculty and SFS condemn it by stating it artificial system inside heritage culture.

Yesterday, the varsity of Panjab University Chandigarh inaugurated a selfie point near the student centre to make it attractive and under the project of beautification of the student centre.

Hours after the inauguration, many faculties and the student party SFS raised their voice against this by stating that popular, mechanical, artificial and inorganic addition to the natural and historically loaded visual culture of the campus.

On talking with one of the faculty they stated that "This attempt is just to bring in the "Elante culture" inside the campus which actually demolishes the richness of the campus. Every corner inside this campus is a selfie point."

They issued a public statement regarding this while addressing it to the Dean student welfare. In the statement, they also asked the administration to take action on the promises communicated to the students and teachers who protested against the demolishing of the protest site near the VC office.

The letter also mentioned the issue of vehicle Menace which caused various problems in the campus. They further added that the campus is not a tourist place. They urged administration to have a check on the inflow of the vehicles which carry stickers and posters of political parties and are not registered with residents and students of campus.
