PU Syndicate gives a nod to the appointment of returning officer

In a series of important affirmations made yesterday, the Panjab University Syndicate approved the appointment of the Registrar as the Returning Officer for the election of Ordinary Fellows in 2024. The Syndicate also gave the nod to framing a template and new parameters for the evaluation of temporary and guest faculty.

Now, the faculty shall be assessed after every end semester before the extension of their services for another term. This has been done to ensure more competency in light of an increase in the honorarium to a maximum limit of rupees 50,000.

The Syndicate also approved other important matters, such as the minutes of the Selection and Evaluation Committee, the increase in the budget allocation to the Youth Welfare Fund, and the appointments of Prof. Badri Narayan Tiwari from Allahabad on the Ambedkar Chair and Prof. Sachidananda Mohanty from Orissa on the Aurobindo Chair.
