The Himachal Pradesh Chief minister, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, has elevated his efforts on the already existing topic of securing the state's "lawful rights" over Chandigarh.
The CM stated that according to the panjab reorganisation act,1966 himachal pradesh's prerogative to the UT is 7.19 percent, yet it has been denied of this right since the very beginning, he calls it a great injustice that has been done to the individuals of the Devbhoomi.
He also mentioned that a cabinet sub-Committee has been formed to look into this matter and give an account of this report. The state Government will then consider the findings and recommendations of this report and will decide it's procedure accordingly.
In his interview with a media channel he also gave controversy remarks against Punjab by stating that he isn't asking Punjab for anything as he believes Punjab has nothing to give.
On Power Sharing he further added that the state administration is looking into all possibilities to recoup it's Power share. He further claimed that the honourable Supreme Court of India in 2011 granted himachal 7.19 percent Power share in all Bhakra Beas management board [BBMB] projects.
He clearly expressed that while the state is already recieving it's legitimate share, the remaining 13,066 million units of Power are still being held back.
Since the natural resources of Himachal Pradesh are being used to generate electricity, he has also demanded an increase in it's Power share in all the BBMB projects in Himachal Pradesh.
