Punjab players made the nation pride by performing exceptionally well in Special Olympics,7 players got 3 gold ,1 silver and 4 bronze medals.

Recently Special Olympics World Summer Games-2023 was organised in Berlin and Punjab players played an important role in the great performance of the nation.

Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer, Sports Minister of Punjab congratulated the players and gave credits to the players, their parents and the coaching staff stated that it's a matter of pride for Punjab that their players has made the name of the country shine by performing so well in the Olympics. Hayer also appreciated the efforts made by Special Olympics Punjab Advisor Dr. Paramjit Sachdeva.

He stated that it's important that children with special needs also actively participate in the sports and win across all the hardships and difficulties with their hardwork.He mentioned that the latest sports policy made by the sports department on the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann gives special priority to deaf and blind players along with para sports.

Among themedals won by the players of Punjab, in roller skating MD Nisar won a gold medal, Renu two bronze medals and Sita one bronze medal. Jatinder Singh and Harjeet Singh won gold in traditional football, Priya Devi won silver in basketball and Joti Kaur won bronze medal in unified football.
