On 3rd December 2022, PUTA put forward a request in front of Vice Chancellor for the Dean elections to be held immediately. The authorities decided to postpone the elections recently. The elections were scheduled to held on 3rd December 2022 but were postponed.
Along with deciding on postponing the elections, the Vice Chancellor also changed the electoral list against the order of the court to revise the list to include the teachers who have been granted stay on their retirement.
This postponement is going to further delay the CAS promotions of several teachers, not to mention the impact it will have on other academic and research activities.
PUTA requested to not postpone the elections further as it will not be in the interest of teachers. The application urges the authorities to keep the Deans elections immediately in compliance with the Order dated 2.12.2022 of Hon’ble Punjab & Haryana Court.
