On December 16, 2022, the newly elected PUTA Executive met with the Vice Chancellor at VCCR.
The PUTA President gave a letter to the Vice Chancellor expressing concerns about the PUTA President's failure to receive any notices in his capacity and urging him to look into the matter as soon as possible to guarantee the PUTA's full participation in the Senate.
The Vice Chancellor promised to investigate the issue to find a quick solution. The implementation of Dental Institute's promotion policy, delay in CAS promotion, the timely payment of senior colleagues' retirement benefits, the inclusion of teachers over 60 in committees and departments of the university, equitable participation of all teachers in different committees through the creation of a roster system, restartment of Msc program of Nuclear Medicine and worriment regarding recent campus security breaches were among the other topics that were discussed.
The cases of many teachers were discussed and brought up to bring some decision on the actions of the authorities to harass and victimize the teachers unnecessarily.
The message to maintain the dignity of teachers, who are an important asset to the University was conveyed and the Vice Chancellor acknowledged that he would investigate the issues, but he refrained from providing a timeline for their resolution.
The Vice Chancellor looked for participation of PUTA to make the University Grounds vehicle free zone and welcomed ideas to manage issues of gridlocks nearby,especially at Entryway No. 3.
The VC was thanked for his valuable time and was asked his support for the various issues raised in view of the welfare of the teachers. However earlier, the Allegations were also arises on VC for not recognising PUTA President and Secretary.
