A protest was hosted by the PUTA in front of the Vice Chancellor Office on 01.12.22 from 12 pm - 1pm to call out the authorities to acknowledge their failure of implementing the salaries as per the 7th CPC in view of notification HED-EDU 10 MISC/121/2022-SEDU dated. 28.09.22 by the Department of Higher Education, Punjab Government.
A large group of teachers assembled at the site and raised slogans against the Vice Chancellor's failure to grant the benefits of revised pay to the teachers of Panjab University inspite of the issuance of required notification by the Punjab Government in the month of September.
PUTA President Prof. Supinder Kaur brought into notice the casual attitude of the Vice Chancellor on this issue and asked to take necessary steps in the direction of welfare of the professors and get them paid at the earliest, In no way can it be justified that he himself gets the perks as per the revised scales but continues to deny the same to the teachers , PUTA seems to be determined to fight for the rights of the teachers.
