PU teaching fraternity seeks dignified behaviour with Dr. Surjit Singh while condoling the unfortunate death of the female student.
Panjab University Teacher's Association expressed commiseration on the untimely and tragic death of the young girl in Patiala University but at the same time declared wrong the violence against the Professor in the University premises.
In a statement by the PUTA head, Dr. Supinder Kaur, the attacks on Professor Surjit were decried. Dr.Kaur asserted that no one should be allowed to take law in their hands and miscreants should be punished.
The University teaching staff extended full support to Dr. Surjit and insisted that a thorough inquiry should be done with due process, in regard to the allegations made. PUTA insisted that dignity of teaching profession and respect factor in student teacher relationship should not be violated. It is infact a failure on the part of University administration to maintain Peace and security in the campus. The needful must be done at the earliest to ensure justice to the victim and safety to the Professor.
