PV Sindhu wins the Singapore Open 2022, becoming the second Indian woman to win it after Saina Nehwal did in 2010
Adding another feather in her cap, Indian Star Shuttler PV Sindhu has emerged victorious in the Singapore Open 2022, defeating Wang Zhi Yi of China, the current Asian Championships gold medalist in Women's Singles Finals by 21-9, 11-21 and 21-15.
This is Sindhu's first Super 500 title of 2022 and third overall title after she clinched the Syed Modi International and Swiss Open BWF Super 300 titles. She also happens to be the second only Indian to win Singapore Open after Saina Nehwal won the title in 2010.
"Thanks to everyone out there who has been supportive. Singapore is a nice city; it is good to be here." "It is always nice to win the finals after long. Getting this title today means a lot as it gives me a lot of confidence and will surely take me to another level," Sindhu on winning the title.
