RCB cancels practice due to security threat to Virat Kohli.
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) cancelled their practice session before the IPL 2024 Eliminator against Rajasthan Royals (RR) due to a security threat to star player Virat Kohli. To ensure the security of King Kohli, the only practice match scheduled before the IPL's Qualifier match was cancelled by the team management.
RCB planned to practice at Gujarat College grounds but cancelled the practice match without an official reason. A local newspaper reported that Gujarat police arrested four men at Ahmedabad airport for terror activities. They found weapons, videos, and messages at the suspects' hideout. This information was shared with both RR and RCB.As a result after the cancellation of practice match by the RCB the security arrangements in front of the RCB's team hotel was also increased.
RR continued their practice, but RCB cancelled theirs, likely due to the threat to King Kohli.Moreover,A green corridor was build for Rajasthan Royals to reach the training ground.Both teams arrived on Monday but neither team held a press conference before the match, likely due to security concerns.
