Salary grant review file moves positively.

Salary grant is issued by the central government to Panjab University. A case was filed to redetermine the annual grant and its implementation according to revised UGC pay scale. The file of this case has moved to the level MoE positively by passing clearance at the level of UGC.

No official notice has come out so far. PUTA is advocating for the timely payment of arrears owed to its members, based on the revised UGC pay scales implemented since January 1, 2016. The request for a pre-audit of bills indicated a desire to ensure the accuracy and fairness of financial transactions regarding the payments.

An internal rift has emerged within PUTA, involving elected and co-opted members who have jointly written a letter to the president of the association. PUTA President Amarjit Naura said, "We are duty-bound to work for the welfare of the teachers. We respect any difference of opinion and do not discuss internal matters on public platforms. We believe in the University's role in keeping PUTA strong for the cause of teachers."

However, PUTA acknowledged the bold efforts of Vice Chancellor and Chancellor Jagdeep Dhankar for the resolution of the matter.
