SFS activist denied hostel accommodation for her involvement in protest against mess fees

Bhawanjot Kaur, a research scholar of the Department of Philosophy and a SFS activist was denied hostel accommodation by the Warden of Girls Hostel no. 5, over her involvement in the protests against the hike in mess rates.

The warden of Girls Hostel no. 5, Nidhi Gautam denied

her hostel accommodation for the reason that she was

involved in the protests against the hike in mess rates

and restoration of the online hostel allocation portal.

Bhawanjot had completed all the formalities and even deposited the fees, but when the application came to the Warden, she immediately halted the process, citing her involvement in the protests.

Nidhi Gautam also filed a police complaint against Bhawanjot and also lodged a complaint against her in her department. On seeking clarification on the matter, the warden said that if Bhawanjot will get the hostel, then she (warden) will resign from the position of warden.

The members of SFS also met with the DSW for this issue but claimed that the meeting remained inconclusive.
