Student organizations Sath and SFS protest against the non implementation of reservation policy, Senate to address critical issues.

Panjab University, Chandigarh is stepping forward the stairs of success and development but it is a matter of concern that the desired reservation of Backward classes and Other Backward classes for A and B grade posts is not provided in the recruitment process, stating the university calendar unconstitutional. Putting fuel into the whole problem,Panjab University Chandigarh does not follow the reservation policy of the centre or the Panjab state in undergraduate, post graduate and other courses.Moreover,the caste based reservation in recruitment and admission is also acting as a testimony to the integrity of Panjab University.SFS raised the concern to address the pressing issue and ensure equality among students.

Encompassing the important issues in the memorandum submitted before the senate meeting, Student Organization Sath showcased its concern for the betterment of students.The demands includes the revocation of annual fee hike norm,availability of medical leave facility during exams to all the students without any prejudice, improvement in infrastructure of various departments, increasing the capacity of AC Joshi Library and establishment of new reading rooms and incentives for visually impaired students.Senate Members have assured to raise all these issues in the meeting.
