Panjab University Chandigarh has witnessed the PUCSC elections after two years on 18 October,2022. But after the results, it seems that many of the contesting student leaders who were seen regularly bagging votes are somehow disappeared these days, and were not even seen in their respective departments.
Most of these leaders are not attending classes in their departments where they have admissions while some are not even seen in the campus afterwards. Earlier before elections they have made several promises and even comitted that either they win or lose doesn't matter for them but their prime objective is student welfare. However, after elections they totally escaped and distanced themselves from the University and student issues.
Some of the leaders who contested over President post are now following a new trend of unfollowing their followers and even close allies from social media handles claiming that they didn't supported and voted them in the elections.
Now the major questions that arises here is that are students issues just the medium to get fame in elections? Once the election are over, the issues are over as well, but what about the promises these parties and leaders made and what about the students who trusted you by giving votes? Now, it is to be seen that who actually comes out for student welfare and is genuinely concerned for student welfare or will these seasonal frogs wait for the next rain to happen.
