Teams of Delhi and Punjab Police Launch Search Operation for Fugitive Pro-Khalistan Leader, Amritpal Singh in Delhi and its Borders.
A search operation has been launched by the Delhi Police and Punjab Police in Delhi and its borders to capture Amritpal Singh, a fugitive pro-Khalistani leader who is suspected of entering the national capital.
Intelligence inputs suggested that he may be disguised as a sadhu and accompanied by Papalpreet Singh.
An alert has been issued in Dehradun, Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar districts of Uttarakhand as a precaution in view of the possibility of Amritpal Singh entering the state.
The Waris Punjab De chief's last location was in Haryana, and a woman named Baljeet Kaur disclosed during questioning that both Amritpal Singh and Papalpreet Singh had stayed at her house on the night of March 19.
Earlier this week, the Punjab Police arrested 207 people who were trying to disturb the peace in the state. The crackdown comes after Amritpal's supporters clashed with police at the Ajnala police station in February, demanding the release of one of his close aides.
