A group identified as Shiv Sena (Bal Thackeray) led by Harish Singla (executive president) tried having a Khalistan Murdabad march for protest against Khalistan Movement which evoked the response of pro-Khalistan activists and led to a major clash between the groups leading to injury of two people - a hindu activist, Ashutosh Gautam and a police officer Karamvir Singh .
Therefore a curfew has been announced till 6 am on Saturday in order to maintain peace and law.
It is reported that many men waving flags and having swords in hand were seen, while a few were seen throwing stones on each other.
Police including SSP Nanak Singh reached the spot and tried to control the situation by firing 15 rounds in air.
Also, after this development Shiv Sena has expelled its leader Harish Singla from the party. CM Bhagwant Mann held a high level meet over the issue.
