'Another theft case in Panjab University campus', this has become a trending headline in our channel since the past few months. But it seems that it is neither affecting administration nor the student parties as everyone is just busy submitting memorandums without any effective action.
Today, Thieves stole 3 Mobile Phones, around 5000/- cash and other stuff from the parking area of Department Of 3rd Year Law.
As per information, Law students were having their exam today. It wasn't the question paper that caught attention of students but the theft that took place within the university premises.
Students left their belongings in their vehicles which were parked in the parking area of Department. A girl from LLB returned after the exam and found that someone had tried to break into her car. The door lock was damaged by a screw driver or sharp edged thing. Later, she found that 2 Mobile Phones , belonging to her and her friend and Around 5000/- cash were missing along with their Aadhar Cards.
Not only this , 2 more Mobile phones were also missing which were left by students in their activas.
This theft case is even more complex than others as there are no CCTV cameras installed in the parking area. It's also very shocking that four security guards were present in the area at the time of incident but no one seems to acknowledge the same.
When students complained about it to the authorities, they avoided any involvement in the matter and finally a police complaint was filed.
Now the question is that when students' belongings are not safe even in the department then where else ? What should a student do? Should they worry about giving exams or about their phones and cash being stolen? It's a huge question mark on security structure of PU authorities.
Let's see if today's news will also just become a part of trending theft news pieces or a serious result would be seen
