Bharat Jodo Yatra suspended on account of Congress MP's sudden death

Congress MP Santokh Singh Chaudhary collapsed due to a heart attack, died

On morning of Makkar Sakranti, January 14, 2023, while participating in Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Yatra, Congress MP from Jalandar, Santokh Singh Chaudhary suffered a severe heart attack which led to his untimely death.

He was walking beside Rahul Gandhi when this unfortunate incident took place. He was immediately taken to a hospital in Phagwara, where the doctors declared him dead. On account of this event, Bharat Jodo Yatra has been suspended until further notice.

This morning, Punjab Chief Minister, Bhagwant Singh Mann conveyed his condolences by tweeting "I am deeply saddened by the untimely death of Congress Member of Parliament from Jalandhar, Santokh Singh Chaudhary. May God rest his soul in peace". Other prominent figures also communicated their condolences.
